Dog Show

Have you ever been to a dog or cat show? This weekend was my first time. A big international dog show. I didn`t know what to expect, but I had nothing to doo, I like dogs and so I packed my camera and went there.

Actually the fare was boring... I´m not a fan of different dog food brands or cushions and dog furniture. So I left it early to watch the shows.

I found a seat in the second row (oh yes I can be really really lucky if I want to see :-)) unpacked my camera and found out the batteries are empty. (Oh yes I can be really really blonde from time to time)

So the picture you see here is made with my IPhone - sorry for the quality.

the shows were great. Agility training, drug dogs, circus dogs - one of them was able to hang up socks on a clothesline - first aid dogs and search dogs.

The one in the picture is a shepard dog without sheep. So he is trained to force the big balls into a soccer gate. Really funny.

The part I didn`t really enjoy were the racial shows. The ones I attended were for kids learning to handle a dog in a show. Imagine a 12 year old girl in a costume (that would make her Mum look old) showing a mini dog. Smile frozen on her face. No fun. I don`t even think it`s fun for the dogs.

But I know this dog in the picture had fun!

Travelling

Nothing could hold me here in sunny France in the last week, when a good friend of mine invited me to her birthday. I packed my bags, booked a flight and I was up in the air. Yes that was the order I chose :-)

And I love to fly! The first flight of my life brought me to Nice. No kidding. I was a kid then, flew alone and was expected by realtives at the airport. It was a real real rought flight, although I never found out about that after telling my parents on the phone about it.

The stewardesses had to stay at their own seats, after the first round of drinks (I have to mention, I didn`t dare to take the offered softdrink, because I didn`t know it was for free..... :p ). All passengers were buckeled up and the plane was gliding from one blowhole to the other.

I loved it!! On that day I decided I was born to fly and I never changed my mind. All that came back to me during this flight last week. It was windy, snowy, foggy and the plane was shaking and aching. Some people even squeaked.

Wow! No breakfast in the plane, but a great experience.

P.S. The really funny part is: You`ll never see me set one foot into a roller coaster - I hate them!!!

Quite a concentrated look isn`t it? Want to know why? I think I told you that I started to learn all about photography in the last months. And I think slowly I`m getting better. So from time to time I will show you some results here in this blog.

But no reason to worry: Vanessa`s adventures are subject Nr. 1 here.

You wonder why I dress so decent? No kidding, I was taking pictures of a childrens carnival party. Hah - you might laugh now, but you don`t have an idea about how difficult it is to make beautiful pictures of kids who had to much sugar before

It`s easier to make artistical pics of a flea circus....

But we all had a lot of fun and it was a great training job for me!

P.S. don`t get mixed up with the second hand in the picture *grin*

Hair Training

This morning i got an urgent call from my friend Mike. He is a hairdresser and a master of his trade.

Today he had an appointment with a really rich and prominent woman, who is supposed to be married tomorrow. This morning should be the trial session for her wedding hair. But for whatever reason she cancelled the appointment today, insisting on a bridal hair trimming tomorrow afternoon.

Mike sounded like getting sweaty hands when he called me this morning, explaining the situation: He needed a girl with the clients hair to try out the coiffure :-)

You know perfectly well what I did. Packed some croissants and rolls in a bag, told him to get the coffee ready and we started the morning with breakfast. Afterwards he was playing with my hair, until he was happy... I couldn`t resist to insist on a snapshot.

What do you think?

World Aids Day

Published: 2009-12-02 05:49

Yesterday has been World Aids Day. Here some numbers:

Worldwide: 36 Million infected people

Worldwide known cases of HIV in percentage:

Africa: 35,5%
Asia: 0,5%
Ozeanien: 0,5%
Europe: 12,0%
North- and South America without USA: 11,5%
USA: 40,0%

Sickness ends with: DEATH

And it`s so easy to be safe: Condoms!

But as important as condoms is the way we treat our fellow human beings who are sick.

You cannot be infected by hugging, kissing cheeks, using the same glass, being a friend!

The streets of New York
Category: Just so
Published: 2009-11-30 10:31

I finally made into the streets of New York!!! If not personally so at least as a Marketing star!

Watch out for me from now on - this pic will change streetlife all over the world.

*big grin* Actually I don`t really think so. First of all I should have been taken a bikini picture to disturb the world wide traffic and second - you probably guessed it already - it `s just a composition.

But nevertheless I like the idea and I thought I post it for you. As I still didn`t make it to New York at least I`m there in a picture.

Nonetheless visiting New York is one of the places on my bucket list. ( I hope you all know the movie: The bucket list, if not get the DVD NOW). It`s so full that I probably have to stay here till I`m 120 or older, but I do what I can.

So - see you in New York, New Zealand, Australia, or......

did I tell you I always wanted to book a flight in a space shuttle?

New Desk
Category: Uncategorized
Published: 2009-11-24 06:13

At some points in my live the feeling develops that it`s time for a change. I usually don`t know what exactly has to change until something happens. It`s just a feeling of fidgetiness and discontent. Sometimes it helps to take one day to get the complete house into shape, sometimes it`s time to redecorate a room or just a place and sometimes (wow that was a great feeling) it`s time to quit a hated job.

I know that all women have this feeling from time to time and some of them just get a pair of shoes (or 3 or 5... :p), but that doesn`t work for me.

When I had breakfast this morning at my desk, checking my emails and reading a newspaper online, I made a desicion, got into the car and drove to IKEA!

Time for a new desk.

Hah! And I found one. Birch tree, large enough for all my stuff (at least I hope that), perfect. The hard part started at home, when I had to carry the package up to the first floor. No chance. I rang my neighbors door - nobody at home. So I opened the package and carried all the stuff piece by piece. What the hell - it worked.

Up there I built up the new table, decorated it with my Mac Mini, monitor, digital picture frame, my Swarovski figurines (a mouse, a bear and a squirrel) and most important my Don`t fear - just do it - card (it shows a flying cat by the way and helped me through a lot of hard desicions).

Sitting at my new desk I felt happy. It really looks good.

But it didn`t solve my problem. So instead of becoming customer of the year I decided to wait what is going to happen. I`m sure somewhere deep in my belly I know what needs to be done.

Carnival began!
Category: Just so
Published: 2009-11-16 06:00

I don`t know if it`s a big thing in the US, but in Europe on November 11th Carnival season starts. Not that you hear a lot about it between November and February, but on this special day many towns party the beginning of the "5th" season with a little parade.

In some towns the city halls are squat and the mayors kidnapped. They buy themselves free with doughnuts (a different form then the US ones) and shots. Many people are dressed up as clowns or wear fantasy costumes.

And from that time all the crewes start the planing activities for balls, parades, big shows and small parties. They are all going to take place in February/March.

But the best carnival I ever remember is Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I found a pic for you, shot a couple of years ago in New Orleans. GREAT TIME!

I probably won`t be there this year, but next year I will!!!

Halloween
Category: Uncategorized
Published: 2009-11-02 06:34

No kidding - this was the first Halloween party of my life!

The motto was "Eyes Wide Shut" - remember the movie with Tom Cruise? Actually I went there because a friend of mine acted as host and he asked me to be part of the show. So all I had to wear this night was a long black robe and a mask plus high heels, but I wouldn`t have left the house without them...

The evening started slow - couples came together, talked, had some food (eyeballs, rats, white mice.... ) and drinks. I really don`t liek bloody Mary so I stuck with Coke.

The show was supposed to start at midnight and who knows the movie, knows what happend. I was led into the party room by the master, had to kneel down, had to get up, had to get rid of my panty, had to kneel down and my robe has been taken away from me, by a couple standing behind me. Afterwards they led me to another room. Let`s call it playroom. The same happened to the other 4 girls.

Why do I tell the story that way? Completely without atmosphere? Because there was none. The DJ played the wrong music AND talked tons of bullshit during the show. Ruined everthing. Many people couldn`t see the show and so there was a lot of pushing in the crowd, which made people whisper....

I can get really angry about stuff like that... But ok. I just decided to enjoy the rest of the night. So I used the large jaccuzzi in the "beach area" (it`s really nice - sand, lot`s of cabanas, the pool and so on. But all indoors and warm :D

It was sooooooo relaxing there. Somebody brought me a glass of champagne and I just stayed there and talked a bit! Later I danced a bit, talked some more. I think I was home by 3 am. Nice evening over all.

I have to wait if I will be allowed to post some pics of the evening - if so, they will be here soon!

Winter boots
Category: Just so
Published: 2009-10-26 05:30

It`s nearly November and it`s finally time to get some new winter boots. I love winter, but I hate cols feet. So they have to be warm, high heeled, sexy, black, over the ankle and - I don`t know, I just have to feel comfortable in them.

So I used some time last week to get new boots. I know several shops in which I ALWAYS find more then enough shoes. Not this year. No chance. A lot of boots I liked, but not THE SHOES. YOu know what I mean. After 5 shops (none of you will marry me after that confession :-)) I gave up and decided on a new turn at the end of this week.

Isn`t it a funny life - to life in a town where you buy your winter boots in a t-shirt???

The story to the picture
Category: Uncategorized
Published: 2009-10-21 05:59

A friend of mine works as a high school teacher. She is cool, she is sexy and loves her pics to be taken. Her boyfriend always wanted to see her as a real bad teacher. Like a domina. But he doesn`t know anything about photography. On the other hand - I know a good photographer and had this cute little dress in my wardrobe. The janitor of this school is in love with his wife, who loves cakes - but he doesn`t know how to bake. Easy plan, isn`t it?

Doris promised to bake a surprise cake for the janitor`s wifes birthday, if he let`s us into the school on a Sunday...

I brought my photographer, Doris boyfriend brought champagne.

And so we got started. Unfortunately they only had cold water in this classroom - but it was a nice view on my nipples *grin* .

Doris and her boyfriend are more then happy about the teacher pics, we all had fun and I hope you guys are happy about the new schoolgirl set!!!

Last summer
Category: Just so
Published: 2009-09-28 05:13

Whenever seasons change I enjoy one moody day and I guess that`s today. So what happened last summer? Big minus: I didn`t go to the beach often enough. Very very bad. So I have to go swimming in an indoor pool this winter to make up for it.

That develops into an idea! I could try to form a little group of people and we go to the sauna and swimming once a week. Sounds like a winter without a bad cold and it`s supposed to be healthy for the skin, too. I probably should try to get everybody on the phone now to fix a day. On the other hand I am the one who isn`t into cold water :-) But once a week - ok.

So what else: I remember that last year before christmas I used just one single afternoon to bake christmas cookies. Not enough! And so I already called a friend and we will bake together on 2 advent Sundays. Perhaps I show you my results in a chat - I can bake really really good cookies!

Skiing - I have to remember to start special workouts for skiing this autums. Don`t want to end up with an injured knee this year.

Any more suggestions? Let me know in the forums - otherwise I go back to dreaming about last summer...
